Quick Q on importing files (Cubase SX)

    Hi

Lost a song I was working on (don't ask) and a lot of hard work wasted - or so I thought.

I'm pretty new to production software but I noticed that there is an archive (of sorts) in which seemingly every single noise or thing recorded has been stored - is it simple to just find what I need and import back into Cubase?

If so, any pointers or is it obvious?

    Thanks

In cubase (just to check), goto the folder where the song is saved and look for *name of song*.bak

That would be a backup of the last session that auto saved.

The archived audio is each clip as it was in the DAW - including takes you didn't use possibly.

Thanks - yeah that sounds like the folder I saw. Absolutely everything seems to be in there.

So, do you reckon it's easy to "import" these so they can become usable again?

It's not easy, but there maybe ways of fixing it - maybe send the file to cubase and they can repair? or Just drag the clips into a new project and look through them... it will be a mess, but you could possibly recover a fair amount of work.
