Using iPhone 4 in Belfast with 3

    I'm traveling to Belfast next week, and will be using my iPhone for a lot of calls and data.

    Am I correct in thinking that 3 allow use in Belfast / UK to come out of flexiunits and normal data plan, and this is not seen as call/data roaming?

    What settings are best to use (data roaming on/off etc), and should I tell 3 customer service I'm going to Belfast / UK?

    Apologies if these are stupid questions :D

    I travel over to the UK a bit and have used 3 like home over there. Just leave data roaming on and make sure your phone selects the 3 UK network.

    I use my 3Ireland accounts in Belfast EVERY day. There is no problem. Simply make sure you choose 3. The only thing that appears not to work is 3-3 calls which are coming out of flexi-units and not 3-3 minutes. I deem this to be contrary to the spirit of 3 Like Home.

    Settings->Carrier->Select 3 UK.

    Once you have 3UK selected it will only try connect to 3UK, you've gotta switch it back to Auto or 3 when you get back South of the border. Switch over to 3UK before you go turning on data roaming in case some data slips through on another network.

    Thanks guys.

    Should I definitely have data roaming on?

    Definitely, it won't work otherwise.

    Just to clarify: you will be using 3 Like home and that being the case, there is nothing you have to do other than roam on 3.

    You continue to use it as though you were at home and unless, you cannot get a 3 signal in some awkward part of the six counties, leave everything as it is, to enjoy the same service as you do where you live, without penalty.
