    Don't think i've ever gotten 15 megs over the wifi. As mentioned above, be thankful it works ;)

    It was 15meg on speedtest but i was usually getting download speed of 700kbs/1meg a sec.

    Hopefully it gets sorted out

    I think it depends what standard it's using (and i haven't checked) but possibly all the extra people and interference and sharing a channel with a pile of extra laptops. See if you can test it out at some stage when nobodys around (don't forget they could be around just not in the library)

    more people == less bandwidth.

    as another poster said count yourself lucky it works at all.

    I don't see why you'd need more than 1.5mb in the library anyway?

    I was using it early in the morning when there was no one there so forget about more people=less bandwidth!

    I would expect the internet to work,so why should people be grateful it works at all when they are paying students.

    Sure will hope it sorts itself out.

    There was no wifi for months last year. So that's why you should be grateful! The fact that we pay money to be there doesn't fix it unfortunately. DIT is pants when it comes to stuff like this.

    depends on the area. consistently certain areas are good for wifi. other aren't. You can get fairly good in first floor annex as well as in the library. It's a bit dodgy in the ground floor lecture rooms but fine in the canteen. the 10-20 rooms on 3rd floor (i think) are the ones i never get wifi in. works okish in the labs in 1-10.

    I always use ditwifi but ditlan is there as well.

    Recently there's an issue thats giving off a beacon error in browser. Not sure what the hell that's from. techs say it's because access point is overloaded but as far as i know a beacon error would stop you connecting to the wifi. if you're able to get a web page your definitely connected to the wifi.
