Serious celeb host - awards dinner in Feb 2011

Hi folks

I need to get a serious (i.e. newsy) celeb host for a dinner I'm organising for next year. Last time I did this a few years back, I paid €3.5k for a big RTE name. Have you any ideas of going rates for this kind of work (2-3 hours, plus some briefing beforehand) in the current environment?

Any ideas about how to get in touch with these big names to check costs and availability?

Try Carol Hanna at Carol & Associates. She has been around the business a long time and has a lot of the bigger names on her books. List of personalities she handles here.
In relation to cost, it really depends on the profile of the personality - the bigger they are, the more you pay.

Thanks - somebody else referred me to Carol as well, and she seems to have cornered the market with the celebs. Are there any other relevant agencies in this market?
