I'm looking for suggestions for a brew I'm planning this weekend,
an American Pale Ale. I have the following ingredients. I like hops & would
be looking for something along the lines of Goose Island or Sierra nevada
    in taste.

    I have Plenty of DME
couple of pounds of Light Crystal 100 EBC
couple of pounds Extra light Crystal 60 EBC

    Hops:
    Chinook Alpha Acid 11.4%
    Magnum 15%
    Cascade 5.5%
    Styrian Goldings 4.3%
    Amarillo

    Yeast:
A few packs of Safale 04,& Safale 05
1 pack of liquid Wyeast 1450

    I'm thinking maybe:

    7lbs of Dry Malt Extract
    0.25 Light Crystal steeped
    0.25 e light crystal steeped

    0.5 oz magnum at 60

    0.5 oz amarillo at 30
    0.5 o cascade at 30

    0.5 oz amarillo at 15
    0.5 oz cascade at 15

    0.5 oz amarillo at 5
    0.5 oz cascade at 5

    Safale 05 yeast.
    dry hop after 2 weeks

Would mixing amarillo & Cascade like above be too much, or should I stick to 1? Thanks.

That will be a lovely beer with those hops alright. What kind of volume are you looking for (19l ?) so you can calculate your bitterness and alcohol starting gravity. I would use us-05 myself too as its fairly neutral and perfect for a pale ale. Good luck with the brew :)

Be looking at 19-20 Liters alright. Working out at abv 4.8% at IBUs around 46.
