Probate question

Just looking for some advice and wondering if someone could help. My beloved Mam died last month and myself and my brother are joint executors of her will. Mam left a will stating that her house and money are to be divided equally amongst her 4 children. It should be fairly straightforward and we may decide to take out probate ourselves (depending on the quotations we get from solicitors). Mam was in a nursing home before she died. Her house was rented out to help towards the costs. During this period we had an accountant to deal with Revenue on her behalf. The accountant managed to get Revenue to agree that Mam was exempt from making returns for 3 years as there was little chance that she would have any tax liability due to the nursing home bills. Does this exemption mean that we are exempt from getting Revenue clearance for
    probate ?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks a million, it was worth a try. Anything to avoid filling out all those forms.
    Thanks again.
