    hi all

just wondering if i could get a little help. I am part of a covers band finding it very difficult to nail down keyboard players or brass players. recently it was suggested to me about backing tracks to fill out the sound and after some time investigating this i found a site that reproduces popular songs from scratch and with the aid of their own multi track player you can remove instruments or vocals as you wish.

here's the catch: they will only produce tracks that have a high no of votes (above 30). what i would like (of course if the moderators allow in the name of accessing cheap tools) is if a thread could be started where people could give a link to a nominated track and by logging in others could help bump the vote

i am not trying to promote anything here other than a resource i stumbled across that could aid "struggling" bands.

this is the first link i have. any help is appreciated

    cheers
    b

Would it not be like a hundred times easier to make them yourself with a laptop and garageband or whatever?

i know a one-man band who does it with cake walk and plays over them with guitar. Sounds good, but he does them well.

yeah thought of that but i would be far from proficient in using cakewalk, audacity or similar. i'm also the one who organises everything to do with the band and it takes up a huge amount of time. added to the mix....self employed, wife, kids, part time study (no violins please!!!) there aren't enough hours in the day. dont get me wrong i love what i'm doing but sometimes it is like taking 1 step forward and 2 back.....if you check out the link you'll see how easy they make it.

    cheers

    Get yourself onto http://www.songgalaxy.com/multi.php?reset

Tracks are about €11.50 each, but are of great quality and you can edit individual instuments and pan the click to a l/r channel for your drummer to use!
