    Hi guys,
Just wonder if anybody can tell me how much does it cost to lodge application to be Commissioner of Oaths and how long does it take to proceed? Do you have to lodge it to SC or District will suit too?
As far as I know for non-solicitors you need to have: affidavit, Certificate of Residence and Fitness. Is there anything else? Do you need to be an Irish citizen or be fluent in Irish?
    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks Haddockman, appreciate it!
So if I got it right altogether it will cost around 450 euro???
What about documents, lengths and other requirements?
    Thank you!

    I did see it, thanks!
I just can not figure out without doing it in practice: where to lodge an application (SC or DC can suit also), how long does it usually take, is it going to be a hearing in court etc?
    Thank you!

As I recall, applications are held twice yearly before the Chief Justice. (Could be April and October)
The documents are lodged upstairs in the Supreme Court office. A clerk will look over the documents before lodgement.
I suggest you give the office a ring tomorrow for clarity...

To be honest I don't think is correct about automatically becoming a Commissioner for Oaths when you are admitted to the Roll of Solicitors. Indeed you will notice on many statutory declarations/proceedings etc. that you either swear as a solicitor OR a commissioner for oaths. I could be wrong but it might be worth looking into.
