So this has been on the bbc and rte news,

But i was thinking when he does name a successor will he be like his father or will he be democratic and reunite the two halves of the country?

Or will the Americans hint that the South should invade the North due to a new leader who is only in his mid twenties.

North Korea's ruling party will hold its first conference in a generation on 28 September, state media reports say, amid speculation that leader Kim Jong-il is about to name his successor.

The Workers Party is widely expected to promote Mr Kim's third son, Kim Jong-un, to a senior position.

Observers believe a promotion would anoint him as the heir to his father, the self-styled Dear Leader.

So if he's Kim Jong-II and his son is Kim Jong-Un, who's the next guy going to be? Kim Jong-Nun?

The workers party is a nice term for a elite upper-class who control the country through the military. Kim Jong is their puppet leader and his son will be the next one. Its like here, but they are more honest about it.
