People who edit ALL of their posts

Does this get on anyone elses nerves?

Someone writes something idiotic, stupid, just plain incorrect or ignorant.
    Someone else writes a reply.
OP goes back edits their original post to change it COMPLETELY realising what an idiot they are and leaves the note "Sorry, spelling mistake".

Now, if someone else comes along 10 minutes later, fresh to the thread, reads the OP, then reads the reply, the person who replies look like an idiot saying something obvious or stupid or seemingly replying to something completely different than the point in the "original" post, or, as the original post has now changed the replier looks completely in the wrong.

I won't name names but I think if you do it then you realise that you do, why consciously edit every post you've been proven wrong on?

Edit if you make a spelling mistake or want to fix a post somehow to make better sense shortly after you post it.... Don't come back an hour later and totally change your post to squirm your way out of being made look like an idiot by those who replied to you.

You made your point, stand by it. If you were wrong, why not reply and admit your original point was wrong and you might get a little respect for being man enough to do that.

Right, rant over... queue about 20 edited replies.

Would you mind changing the title to "people who edit their entire posts" as it's a little misleading - you're not complaining about those who edit each and every one of their posts, surely?

    I think I edit a lot.

I'm dyslexic and proof read everything before posting. But it doesn't always pass mustard , often a few minutes later I'll re-read the post and have to edit again.

But not because someone has made me look an idiot - I can do that pretty good all by myself.

Surely an army man should know it's "pass muster"?

    Maybe he meant Pat Mustard.

Before clicking on this topic, how many people thought to themselves "I bet some predictable goon (likely the first reply) will edit their post, thinking it's hilarious & fresh.".

So lame. I can just picture them hitting "edit" and "post reply" over & over until the "edited by" line finally appeared.

    Yeah - totally unpredictable.

    Its both actually.

There's a habit of almost re-editing entire posts to not be shown up for being wrong.

People I've noticed doing it once tend to do it a lot when caught out. Not EVERY post but a fair amount, seems to be a habit.

I thinks it's cowardly, if someone posts something, then stand by what you said. Trying to remove record of what you said is just cowardly.

I'm not singling one person, it's just a trend I've noticed here and there.

Quoting helps but not everyone quotes every little thing, it's easy to make something look totally out of context if you're that bothered.

Also, well done on all the edit's guys, genius. Didn't see that one coming.
