The tax disc on my car says 10/10.
Does that mean I must renew the tax at the end of this month or at the end of next month?

    Thanks.

    AFAIR its his first car.

I had the same query recently. We are not all as "clued in" to the rigours of the various requirements as you are - and your informative post was really helpful to the OP I must add. Not condescending at all.

Motor tax always expires on the last day of the month displayed on the disc.

I was just not sure if it expired on 10/10 or at the end of 10/10.

I'm quite broke this month so its good to know I don't have to pay for the tax for another month...

    Thanks for the info...

they'll probably send you a pin number in the post, you can use this pin online to tax the car for the entire month after expiration of your current tax disc. Handy if you're short of cash, I have yet to meet a Garda who had a problem with a car out of tax providing it was within a month of the last tax disc expiry :)

Sell the car while it's still taxed.
