    without uniforms?

Quite possibly i've posted this in the wrong place, or it's been posted before. my apologies, and please direct me to the right place.:)

I've heard that they do exist, and would really love to find one for my third year.
we've already been through the uniform thing--and had some issues with teacher bullying (but those are stories for another day) and really love to find one in or near cork city.

    thanks!

I wouldn't be picking a school because it had no uniform, but really only grind schools don't have a uniform. I honestly think uniforms are for the best, I might be making unfair assumptions but if you're daughter was being bullied by a teacher purely over uniform then just wear the uniform right (I know several people who were 'bullied' by teachers over uniforms, they just weren't wearing it right). Bruce College I don't think has a uniform, but its fee paying :)

it was my son being bullied, and yes i'd rather him go to a school where they focus on learning as opposed to the right shade of grey pants that match the uniform.

    but thanks for your comments.

I know Mount Temple Comprehensive in Dublin has no uniform, perhaps comprehensives in Cork are the same?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but perhaps you could organise a meeting with your child's Year Head. I would be surprised if they didn't understand your situation. Given the current economic climate, most teachers in my school are very understanding when it comes to buying new things and money.

Well the school I went to was okay with the lads wearing black trousers instead of the grey ones. Plus the school jumpers could be knitted.

If you talk to the schools I'm sure they will agree that as long as your son dresses smart, he should be okay.

Pulling your son out of school over uniform harassment, won't do him any favours IMO. Im a student myself and yes, as students we have disputes with teachers, but it must be treated like a workplace. If a dispute arises, you deal with those involved (i.e. Speak to school authorities) and resolve the issue. You'll do nothin for your son's reputation if he's justifying moving school on the basis of a uniform. And I reckon your reputation as a parent could suffer subsequently. My two cents.
