Hi, Im really into The Horrors and im looking for another band like them?
I love their new(ish) album Primary Colours and a bit of their old stuff but id prefer their style and sounds in Primary Colours. I also have seen them live and i was surprised by the enthralling stage presence they had.

Im looking to find another band who have a similar sound to the horrors album primary colours (A Kraut Rock/Psychedelic sounding band).

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Geoff Barrow who produced Primary Colours formed a band called beak> they have a similar krauty sound, without much singing though.

Crystal Stilts also have a similar sound but possibly a bit too under produced but 'Converging In the Quiet' is a pretty good track, check it.

I've always thought they sounded really similar to The Cure.

I love Primary Colours, what an album. The video for 'Sea Within A Sea' is fantastic. If you like that dark, atmospheric sound try Salem. They dont really sound like The Horrors, but they have that gloomy yet sometimes euphoric sound.

    Haven't heard the new album.

I've been enjoying this song from it though.

Love that song Still Life, a very 80s Cure sound to it.

Skying is a great album. Glad to not be disappointed by the follow up to Primary Colours.

Been listening to it since last Friday and it's a grower.

Don't expect "Primary Colurs" mk 2. As heard with "Still Life", they have gone in a fairly different direction for the most part.

It's almost like the beach holiday after the stormy night, esp on "Moving Further Away", this album's epic, I mean there are samples of seagulls and trumpets!

Actually, trumpets on a few songs.

Anyway, enjoyable album after a few listens, only to become more enjoyable imo.

Free download of the album's centrepiece in the link above.

It's pretty indicative of the direction they have taken.

I don't get this nostalgia stuff, I heard that Still Life track and thought why bother when The Chameleons did this stuff 20 years ago and they had lovely hard hitting drums not wimpy synthetic drumming like The Horrors.

    Kids today, imitating too much.
