For anyone interested in seeing one there's a Tesla roadster currently parked in UCC outside the electronic engineeing building (Just inside the barrier from college road on the left). There was also another ESB electric car but it's gone now. Believe it's there as a demonstration/talk for some 4th years so not sure how long more it will be around. Could well be gone quite soon.

Will post a few pics from my phone later if anyone interested.

Until Ireland gets Nuclear power though your just centralising all the pollution, ESB Still uses alot of Coal fired power plants. Largest Powerstation is Moneypoint which their retrofitting to meet EU emission targets.

You're right to a point, but one person buying a Tesla Roadster will add zero emissions as the ESB won't have to generate any more power for one guy charging his car!

The fella that owns it is a director at SWS, ie windfarms etc. So there's a promo aspect to it too i suppose.

That C reg will really screw him when he goes to sell it :D

Edit: that links says it cost €100k, thought they were £100k in the UK, are we actually getting better value on something here?

    it's a nice looking car!
the boot is tiny and there's a standard looking 3 pin plug on the end of the charging lead :)

He should have a windmill in his back garden, just for charging the car.

I'd hate to see him trying to make it up to a windfarm in the Tesla!

You bumped a 9 month old thread for this gem of sarcasm?
