Launched as a marketing tool when Sony released the PSX in America and Europe, SAP (or Society Against Playstation) provided some rather amusing add's comparing the use of Playstation and the effects it could have on your brain. Most of the games previewed in these early adds look extremely Arcade like basic and primitive and it's incredible to think how far PlayStation has come...look at the recommended price after he throws a disc from the "bagel toaster"

This next one is Christmas themed and is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Note that the girl is wearing a sweater which says Toys R Us

Never found out who the actor was in these was....

    They're brilliant :D

Don't remember them at all though. Trying to remember when I got my first Playstation... When were they on TV?

These ad's ran on UK TV, and Irish TV, from Summer 1995 to Christmas 1995

I remember seeing the first one but can't say I remember the second one

Thanks. Don't have a strong memory of them. I would have been 6, probably still on the Sega Megadrive then :P

Yeah I remember these, I thought they were really clever.

Sony dropped them pretty quick though and went with much more "serious" marketing after that, to make playstations seem "cool" (I guess it worked, they certainly kicked the N64s ass back then).

The only parts of those ads that stuck with me through the years was that they always ended with the "DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN" music and the little Hitler-esque salute and XD

Don't remember those ads at all. The only Playstation ad I really remember is that Chris Cunningham one with the odd looking girl:
