We are flying to sicily with our 2 kids. Aged 7 weeks and 3 yrs. Where is the best place to sit on the plane. Front middle or back. I thought very back row, close to toilets etc. My wife thinks those seats are smaller. Also it might be too noisy.

The seats in the back row don't recline, which can be a pain if the person in front of you reclines their's. You can also get hassle by people queueing to use the toilets etc as well.

Personally, I always try and get as close to the front as possible, regardless of who I am with. There is a reason why Business Class is at the front of the plane.

I agree with Fred, as close to the front as you can get. If the front row has a partition separating the seats from the door/cabin crew area so much the better, otherwise, row two. Basically, the further up the plane you are, the less people you're likely to annoy if your kids are playing up.

Also, if you're on Aer Lingus, the first five or six rows have much more legroom and they charge more for prebooking those.
