I'd like for it to be some kind of worldwide nuclear attack, with an Asian country being the first to go so I could watch the American reports of it.

im no mad religous nut but i do beleive whoever created good will punish us eventually.

Who said "good" needs to have a creator?
Are things really good because some supreme being decided so, and if he decided they were good, why? Were those things not good and bad already before he assigned labels to them, or did he just decide things were good and bad just to mess with our heads .

See i think there's a universal logic to what's obviously good and bad, kinda like what they say about the rules of maths. I don't think it could work any other way.

E.g Casual murder could never be "good".

Alf Stewart punishes evil. He also created the earth, then rested on the seventh day to have a heart attack and help Don Fisher out with a barbecue or some shít.

define evil, lets say there was a god, why would its definition of evil be the same as ours and why or how is man more evil now than say during the time of the mongol or qing dynasties when millions were slaughtered or when the white europeans murdered 10 million native americans on their journey across the usa

Certain things feel good because our brains' reward systems are wired a certain way. For the most part this was an eventuality under natural selection. If you went to an alien planet with complex life, they would too have reward systems- activated in roughly simmilar situations as our own.

Our whole ability to feel pleasure/displeasure is completely explained by natural selection. And the rules of natural selection make the evolution of reward systems virtually guaranteed.

I always enjoy a good rant about how people should think more rationally about things, but this isn't "abandon all feelings and emotions completely", it's "you need to do what will give the greatest long-term happiness to yourself and society", as often our instinct goes against our long term happiness (as we didn't evolve to be happy, we evolved to reproduce), but this quest for long-term happiness is still ultimately just to activate the brain's pleasure center.

Ultimately, the entire meaning of our lives is dictated by a part of our brain that evolved purely for the passing on of genes. If we were to completely rise above our drive to activate this part of the brain (and feel happy)... well, there'd be no meaning to life anymore, what would be the point in doing/achieveing anything? in fact, what would be the point in living at all ?!

So, there. Meaning of life solved. Anti-climax or what?

May aswell go along for the ride though ;). When we've solved all of humanity's problems and everyone is relatively happy, then we can start thinking about whether or not to completely rise above our reward systems (although i don't think we ever will).

And yes, bad people can go unpunished, but i like to think they don't live happy lives as they have to live with what they've done.

NO. man is well capable of inflicting a day of reckoning all on his own. the supreme being will just sit back and watch the fireworks.

Earth will eventually be destroyed or unable to sustain life.
Not in out lifetime, but eventually even in millions of years, its just a logical fact.
You can attribute this to God or anything...

If you are religious, then Id kinda wonder why God would destroy something he's put all this work into... wouldn't he kinda have no purpose without us?

I'm personally not religious, I question things too much to have blind faith.
I think everything we make our own decisions and are to blame for our own actions.

the earth was invented in 1962 by a man called Robert. everything else you call history is a prequel. The main character, earth, is rumoured to be killed off next year and be replaced by sexier mars as the the third plannet from the sun.

although some claim this is due declining standards of decency sources close to robert say this is actually because he wants to focus on other projects, such as doing your ma!
