    Hi,

Recently my laptop hasn't been working properly, whenever I turn it on, it starts up but the screen won't work at all. I could end up turning it on and off 50 times and maybe the screen will come on once, it's very frustrating as I can't rely on it. Would anyone know what is wrong with it or had similar experiences? It's a toshiba u300 btw.

    Regards,
    Daz

If it does some in at all, even just nce in 50 times, then it sounds like a loose cable/conector between the screen and the motherboard. It can work loose in laptops due to the regular opening/closing. It's normally a simple fix if done carefully and you can probably even find instructions online. If you're not confident then drop it in to someone who is.

Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor to see if you get a picture

I connected it and I go tit to display on the external monitor, then it went blank and the laptop display came on.

If you look at the F keys you should see a blue icon like a monitor or it may say LCD, if you hold function and press the relevant key it should alternate between displaying the external monitor, the LCD and then both.
