So is there any way around Sky's condition that you must have your Sky box connected to a landline?

Yip, just get one box, only multiroom subscriptions require all boxes to be connected to landline.

Thans for that. But does the one box have to be connected to a land line? I ask because I don't have a landline and want to get Sky in. I currently use Freesat.

No need for landline if it's just one box.Don't order direct from Sky-they charge 35 euro for a "no landline install",best order from an independent retailer as the charge is waived with them (except a few unscrupulous chancers).
Standard install for Sky is 30 euro at the moment.

i wouldn get sky in if you have freesat its not worth the bill every month unless its sport you are getting it in for

Obviously the op has enough experience of freesat and what it offers and has decided to go for pay tv option.I love it when freesat/fta fans always jump on a thread where sky is concerned.I have both in the house and find freesat limited in what it offers-if reality tv and braindead talent shows float your boat go for it.Despite the cost,Sky offers more choice and if you want sport it can't be beaten, the same for HD content.
