Hi received a letter in post today about an item seized by customs, with directions how to send of the required material to get to assessed and priced, however one of the items required is a paypal receipt,i logged into paypal and printed and scanned the payment of item, emailed it off and got a email saying this was not right one,so i assume they must meant the email receipt paypal sends to you when you pay for item.

However i do not have this since it was long deleted,i emailed the seller hoping they have a record and waiting,i have mailed and rung paypal but this hasnt achieved much, has anyone else encounter this trouble?,is there another method customs would accept?.

Can you email them a link to the item you bought? They could see the value from there.

If not, they'll value it themselves, and could come up with any value at all. Basically, you're at the mercy of customs since you can't prove how much you paid for it.

I doubt it would work, but can only try. It's that or they'll send it back to the seller.

Taken from revenue guide on imports from goods, says anything showing the value will be accepted

    13.
    Incomplete Declarations/Misdeclarations/Undeclared goods
Any information omitted from customs declaration forms can lead to delays in receiving your package, as it will need to be opened to ascertain if the goods are liable to import duties. This is also the case if the information on the declaration is suspected of being incorrect. Generally in both such cases, Revenue will write to the addressee requesting a copy of the purchase invoice for the goods or where this is not available a pay-pal receipt or a print-out from the internet detailing how much the goods cost. If a reply is not received within 14 days the package may be returned to the sender.

    Is it something from eBay?

whenever his happens to me i normally email them a screendump from my paypal screen, works everytime, maybe they don't belive the value maybe give them a quick call to clarify, normally they are fine to deal with

    Surely that fits the criteria?
As RaSta said, if its an ebay item you may be able to access the listing to print that off.

If it wasnt ebay, you should be able to print off the page showing where you purchased the item and this will satisfy them.

Sometimes a phonecall to customs would sort this out a lot easier for you.

Rang customs, error on their part,so just a detail print out from paypal record will do fine :).

I have a purchase in customs since the 16th of August, how long does it take, no communication from them at all! the item only cost €20 so the duty won't be that big. Its just frustrating waiting for them to process the item.

If the value, including delivery, is below €22, then there is no charge.

I'd try ringing them about this, as it's possibly lost.
