Did anyone else spot Prince Albert and his fiancée about this weekend?
I saw him in Durty Nelly's in Bunratty. Didn't hear anything about it in the media at all.
Presume he's just on his holliers!

(edited: i just had a google. apparently, he's not married, but engaged.)

I wouldn't have twigged it either, but I was out with a French couple who spotted him first - and recognised his missus also. I read enough of my granny's Hello magazines when I was bored on visits as a smallie to recognise him once pointed out.

Also, there were at least two bodyguards in suits with earpieces (talking into sleeves and the whole thing) and one more dressed in a fishing jacket and combats.

He seemed pretty relaxed, was chatting to someone in a munster jersey at the bar.

There's a perfectly work-safe image of him. You wouldn't pick him out of a crowd unless you knew what you were looking for!

If you think he looks like a slimy Príck you should ask him how he gets on with his Daughter that he denied the the existence of and mounted a legal challenge to deny right up until the DNA tests.

He also has a Son whose poor Mother lived for a time in an Apartment while pretending She was someone else on his orders to protect his 'privacy'..... According to the Mother he last visited over 5 years ago - Nice one Dad

    - The only thing missing in the sorry saga is an excited Jerry Springer, you can still be trash even if you're born into money I suppose.

    SuperDad info is from here

Monaco's built on dirty money also.
So long as you have the money, they won't ask any questions.

    Good spotting Sarah

IT'S not every day royalty steps into your local pub, but such an event proved to be the case in a small village.
Enjoying a short holiday along the west coast, Prince Albert of Monaco and his fiancee, Charlene Wittstock, took time out from their break to socialise at Durty Nelly's pub in Bunratty, Co Clare, last weekend.
The 52-year-old prince, once dubbed a playboy by glossy magazines, enjoyed a pint of ale at the world-famous pub while surrounded by Munster rugby fans celebrating their team's victory over Ospreys in the Magner's League that night.
Limerick woman Sarah Ni Riain was enjoying a night out with friends from France who immediately recognised the prince while he was standing at the bar. Ms Ni Riain said her companions were stunned and delighted that the prince was socialising in the same bar.
"They were standing at the bar talking to a man in a Munster jersey and I don't think he realised who they were," Ms Ni Riain said.
"I recognised him from my granny's 'Hello' magazines. Nobody was bothering them," she added.
The prince and Ms Wittstock -- a former Olympic swimmer -- mingled with the crowd throughout their three-hour stay in the popular pub.
Some locals who recognised them remarked that they were "very amicable".
Staff at the pub were informed of their visit before the couple arrived. It is believed they travelled from nearby Dromoland Castle where they were staying.
Located alongside Bunratty Castle, Durty Nelly's is a landmark pub which has been replicated the world over at least 200 times.
Over the years, celebrities, sporting heroes, international politicians, and movie stars have dropped into the hostelry which was first established in 1620.As well as enjoying the hospitality of staff and locals, Prince Albert and his fiancee enjoyed the night's entertainment at a specially erected outdoor marquee.

Was there a marquee put up for him??

Haha. I rang Petula midweek when I figure'd he'd gone home again and wouldn't be bothered. The dude from the Indo took the article she wrote and stuck a new top and bottom on it and put it in... hilarious.

And I didn't think the marquee was specially put up for him - just seemed like a regular Saturday night thing. Could be wrong.

I actually met his royale highness Prince Philip of Monaco in Shannon Airport (Executive special VIP Lounge) and he gave me this photo taken on the night - He said her name was Sarah and he'd love for her to rule his Kingdom with him some day.

    - He was very moved and a little breathless as he told me......
