    Hi

I recently bought a 08 A4 and wish to get bluetooth installed for obvious reasons. The car we have has some sort of adapter in the arm rests between the front sits. But it looks like it needs something that clicks on to it. When i phone serches for a bluetooth device it tells me that there is no service in the car. Doese anyone know what type of device is needed and how much they cost roughly. Thanks

Bluetooth was a costly extra on the new model A4, and very few have it fitted, but I think the adaptor for the phone holder went in to every car.

It is possible to have a decent Bluetooth system retro fitted. ICE in Ranelagh do it and did one for a car of our recently, through the dealer. It was around €550 so quite a bit more expensive than a Parrott Kit, but integrated in to the steering wheel controls.

The unit in the centre console need an Audi supplied cradle for your mobile, costs about €200. The list of phones for which they supply cradles is very limited, like they don't have one for Nokia 6303. My father got a 10 reg A4 recently and it has bluetooth which works a treat. Not sure if Audi can retro fit it.

If they can it's probably loads of €€€€

Kufatec as above is the best bet. Ive a 08 audi A5 and I did get the bluetooth system from the factory. It works pretty well, giving all phone info on the centre screen as well as steering wheel control and voice dialing.
Still if you could live without the steering wheel controls and the on screen info, a nokia bluetooth kit or similar will do the job for small money & if you dont install the cradle, it is invisible apart from a control button.
The equipment in your arm rest wont be connected to anything when you dont have the phone installed.
I think the audi system was a €700 option from factory

Try these guys. I have one of their units in an E200. It simply replaces the Nokia cradle and converts it into bluetooth. It is fully integrated with steering wheel controls and dash display.

    It cost me about £200.00
