So, what did you join? I know some guys here that were hosting the signups for a particular society :pac: But who signed up for what?

Check the students union, they'll give you a list and contact info.

Anyone interested in the Society for Creative Anachronism( alternatively, and reluctantly, known as the medieval society), don't hesitate to contact me.

Rapier fencing, calligraphy/illumination and archery seem to be our main activities this year but we're branching out more and more.:)

I'm seneschal,or chairperson, and the college's fencing marshal. Etienne(John) can only make fencing practices once a month now, Sagadis(Melodi) may be able to come over sometimes for fibre crafts(weaving, knitting, anything yarn-related) and we're hoping to get heavy armoured combat up and running with Sigmundr(Stephan) and Hilkka(Hilde) sometimes too. Sue and Jasmine seem to be doing wonderfully with garb-making and calligraphy respectively :D

Anything else you're interested in? We're open to all ideas!! Dancing, some drama, music, jewellery and tableware making, forging(making knives and such), armour making, brewing, cooking, anything at all!!!

All are welcome, practices are free, no kit or experience necessary. As a branch of an international organisation we're also open to non-students and alumni, all we ask is that you are enthusiastic and up for a laugh in funny clothes :P

Most will put up posters. As chairperson I usually text or email people and put up posters with dates and contact information as well.

I'm also in the habit of dragging the gawkers in from outside our doors. The view is so much better from inside :P

If anyone mentions them in conversation don't be afraid to ask for more information. Most people are more than willing to share their hobby with an eager newbie, and the newer societies, like the gamers, anime and ourselves(SCA/medieval) are crying out for people to join and spread the word that we are here!!!
