    Whats this got to do with the sport of hunting in Ireland:confused:

    PS: I presume any cull is done by government licensed people as is the case in this country when it comes to dealing with otherwise non-game protected species

    farmers might get a licence to shoot them on their land, but i would think you would have to be badly affected by tb to get the licence, most of the killing will be done be the department over 5 years

    this thread might be better suited to the farming section

    Badgers are HIGHLY protected in this country, and the hunting/shooting of them has nothing to do with legitimate and legal shooting sports.

    To paraphrase Father Ted: 'This would be an agricultural matter'.

    OP: As has been already suggested, this topic might be a much better fit in the Farming and Forestry forum.
