I had a similar problem last year. Just run up to the ISS Helpdesk on the top floor of the Grattan Building and they'll do a few things with it and it will work. Just some setting needs to be changed to allow laplan work :)

I think that might be the proxy settings you're talking about. I literally can't get into my dcu mail on any connection

It's just a regular Gmail account really.

You should be able to set it up through the mail app, just enter your email and password and you're flying.

You probably just need to set the proxy.

    Working purely from google:

    https://cgi.aub.edu.lb/cns/helpdesk/knowledgebase/aubwlan/aubdot1x/iphone2_0config.html

    iphone-7.jpg

(I assume that's what your proxy menu thing looks like)

    Anyway, the url is "http://proxy.dcu.ie/proxy.pac"

If it needs a server/port use proxy.dcu.ie and port 3128

The Apple on Campus bloke has leaflets on how to do it - can't find his email now, but if you can get in contact you'll be sorted in seconds.

Works fine for me, but can't remember how I did it.

Yep, just go into settings>mail>select gmail>enter name>dcu email address>password>then verify.

    Worked for me

Getting Gmail is no probs for me, but I cannot get it to connect to mailhost.computing.dcu.ie to either download or send CA email. Anyone got that working?

Whenever I try this I get this error -

"The user name or password for "imap.gmail.com" is incorrect"

    Still havin no luck :(

Why don't you just get all your DCU mail forwarded to your normal email account and then set that one up with your iPhone instead?

Yea I know I could do that, just thought it'd be easier if I could get the actual thing hooked up. I'll prob go with that now anyway. Thanks for all the help folks.

    Shane,

Im pretty sure I know what your problem is. I set up my mail on my android phone the other day.

When your typing in your password, it isnt the password you use on the dcu website, but the orginal one you were given in first year, if you dont know it, ring it and ask.
