    Hi.

I played in a comp at the weekend and went on to howdidido this morning and I see that the competition is marked as "Reduction Only". Obviously this means that the handicap's only go down but not up (as mine didnt go up after a disasterous day).

Does anyone know if this is a winter time thing, or if there is some reason a club would have reduction only competitions?

It only happens sometimes and it is a result of the way the CSS is calculated for that day.
    CSS can be SSS-1, =SSS, SSS+1, SSS+2, SSS+3 and SSS+3 (Reductions Only) as far as I know.
It's not something that's decided but more that the results of that competition dictate.
