I remember loving this movie when it was first released... all the way back in 2004.

It's on RTE2 now so am Sky+'ing it and going to bed (early morning). Here's hoping when I sit down to watch it tomorrow night, I'll still be left with fond memories of it.

Anyone else remember it? Trailer below (be warned.. this is a trailer that gives FAAAAR too much away).

Watched the first half hour.. it's holds up pretty damn well so far, but it is only 6 years old I suppose. But definitely off to bed now.

Forgot how good both Josh Peck's performance (George the bully) is and also the soundtrack is damn strong (Death Cab For Cutie, Eels, Wilco and Spoon! :D).

I remember seeing most of this on TV once, and liking it a lot. It reminded me in many ways of Stand By Me, but that's easily one of my favourite films so I wouldn't rate Mean Creak to the same degree. Definitely a fun film to watch though.

I've seen it twice - in the cinema and on TV - and one of those rare films that surprised me again the second time :p It works really well, and Lord of the Flies meets Stand by Me is pretty much a fair description. Extremely well cast - who'd have thought Josh Peck could completely subvert his image at such a young age? It's dark and shocking film, and one that more or less relied on the young cast, and is all the more effective because of them.

went to the irish film institute with my class and watched it it was actually good but the knacker schools ruined the enjoyment of the movie for us.
