I'm looking for breakdown cover for my trip to France next Monday. I was on the phone to AA and they quoted me €119. I'm only going to be in France for 6 days. . . Seems a bit expensive to me.

Just wondering if anyone would know where/who I could get cheaper breakdown cover from. If anybody has any experience in this area could they please shed some light.

Check your insurance policy, alot of policies have breakdown cover included. While this may only apply to Ireland it might be possible to extend it Europe wide with your insurance company for an additional fee.

Try Europe Assist. I got a policy for a month a few years ago for a trip to France. Cannot remember how much it cost but it was not a lot.

I was looking at this topic last winter.
Unfortunately european breakdown assistance policies in Ireland are extramally expensive.
I was travelling for just over a month to Poland, and couldn't find anything for less then 120euros.
My own comprehensive policy includes breakdown assistance, but only in Ireland and UK, and they coudn't extend it to EU.
What I did in the end, was I got a breakdown assistance policy in Poland, which would cover me all over Europe. The cost was about 20 euros for 2 months (or 40 euros for a year - but I didn't need it for such long).

So maybe you can try to find a policy in France way cheaper then here in Ireland.
