Cheapest Android option to getting started

Friend of mine wants to get an Android phone using prepaid options. Am I right in recommending the Meteor option here?

Thinking of getting one of these myself.

The screen on the Optimus is supposed to be frustrating to use, but it is higher resolution than the one on the Europa.

i think it's cos the optimus has a resistive screen, whereas the europa has a capactive one. personally i'd find it hard to go back to a resistive screen.

I've seen the wildfire and it's pretty ok even with a smaller screen than the desire et al.

The LG Optimus is just a better phone but the touch screen being resistive really does let it down.

It means the screen works the same as a Nintendo DS.

Try both and see what you think.
