    Hi all,

So my old faithful straightening iron finally kicked the bucket, although i would love a GHD and hopefully Santa will be kind, i just cant afford it at the moment. 80 euro (ish) isnt unreasonable for me at the moment, so does anyone know of any cheap alternatives?

    Thanks :)

I have to admit I got one for 15-20 euro in boots, boots' own brand, and I love it

I got a Vidal Sassoon one in Boots about 3 years ago, think it cost me something like 30euro and it's perfect. Still brilliant.

Second that! Using their Boots Essentials Straightener for the last few months and love it. Think it was 14.99e. Also couldn't afford to replace ghd but while not quite as good, it's close.

I got a remington one in Argos there about 5 years ago. It was brilliant did the work of a GHD without the pricetag....until I accidentally stuck it to a bit of plastic.....200degreees and flimsy plastic don't work well :o

You could order a GHD off one of those GHD websites. I have a pink one now and it's brilliant, it's about 2 years old now.... :)

Kodo creative straightners are really good too. They are a cheap alternative! I think they are available in terrisales shops! :)

Nicky Clarke is an amazing hair straightener! I think the cheapest out there would be 20.00, the ones I got were 30.00 and are brilliant and still working perfect after purchasing them a couple of years ago. I do prefer the GHD but at times I'll admit I have grabbed my Nicky Clarke's over them.

plus one on the boots own brand, got mine last Febuary and haven't looked back since!
They were €15 and were supposed to be temporary replacement for ghd's, but I find them brillant.
I would have below shoulder lenght, thick wavy hair. they dont make my hair poker straight, but the ghds never used to either!!

I got this one here after my ghd died. It's brilliant! It's just as good if not better than the ghd. I love the fins that it has to help straighten the hair. It's acyually half price! 60 ood euros! http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4433020/Trail/searchtext%3EHAIR+STRAIGHTENERS.htm

I had a Kodo and it was okay, but that was like 7 years ago, so I'm sure they must be a lot better now!!

My friend got the Hello Kitty straighteners from Argos last week and she loves them, I haven't tried myself but she got them after her GHD's broke she seems to think that thy are in the same league as her GHD's. I'm going to try them when I see herm they do look so cute though.
