Good All Games is shutting down. :( Obviously I didn't give them enough money.
    Dear GOG users,

We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We've debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we've decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form.

We're very grateful for all support we've received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming.

This doesn't mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We're closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.

On a technical note, this week we'll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.

    All the best,
    GOG.com Team

It's a pain, I still have to get my fallout games I bought off them but it might not be true, I heard it's a PR stunt. If the rumour is true, it's a dick move of a PR stunt.

Agreed, if true then that's a pretty low stunt to pull. Haven't purchased a huge amount of games from them but that sort of crap would put me off spending any more.

Destructoid has a bot about it, seems it will be relaunching but maybe it won't be DRM free since they said they had a problem with this.

Hmm, well that's relatively good news I suppose. Some sort of reasonable DRM might not be so bad. I'll be happy to just get the games I've already paid for. Never got around to downloading Fallout 2.

I hate to say it but I have been saying for ages that these online download services like steam etc are a bad idea. If the service goes belly up you are left with nothing, something that wouldnt happen if you had the actual media.

With GOG you do have the installer which you can backup. Steam is a bit more risky in that you are dependent on the servers to be working.
EA let you download games from them but only for 6 months after buying, but you get the install files so can you make few backups and keep your games.

I'd heard the same thing (apparantly the CFO had told publishers to ignore announcements from the site prior to the " closure") , also this
