Udder hard before calving???

    Well have a 1st calving heifer due to calf anyday now.... problem is she has a huge bag already and its now starting to go hard so i'm fearing she may get mastitis if she doesnt calf soon.... Wat can i do to stop this?

    Its normal in heifers, especially at the back

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    As Blue said, its normal. Around here it is called "flagging". If she is on grass, put her onto bare ground. If she's inside, feed her hay. This will help reduce the amount of milk she is producing. She will calve soon anyway.
