Hi I have written some poems and a children's book and I would love to set up a writers circle for writers at all stages of the process. I have joined circles in other communities but I cant find one in Galway. If anyone would be interested in just sitting around, chatting and helping each other with issues like getting started, getting published, finding an agent, encouragement, constructive criticism please get in touch with me. I really believe we can all help each other.

Can i suggest advertising it in charlie byrnes bookshop, just print off a page with details and hang it up in there....I think there's also a website called over the edge (I think) that promotes writing in the west

Hi Donfers, Not much to set it up - just place to read and get feedback if you have written anything, ask questions about the market place, chat about opportunities. Rang about rooms today small one for 4-5 people is €25 and big one for more is €40 so thought we could split cost between us. Other guy called John is also interested so at present that would be three ways. Left flyer in library, food for thought and charlie byrne's so thanks again for that. If you are interested email me evenings and times that would suit you. Thinking about Tuesdays myself - what do you think?

also you could maybe put up a thread on the galway city board.....are you sure you think it's best to fork out for a room, there is a galway book club that meets quite often and I think they just commandeer some quiet corner in a pub....best of luck with it in any case, not able to commit right now but I'm sure there'll be lots of interest, it's a good idea and I'm sure you'll keep us all informed as it develops

I know Westside library has a room that is free. Not sure if the same applies to the library in town.

Has a group been established? I would be interested in joining, or setting one up myself.
