Basically I've got a new family, so there's an 02 Opel Corsa with some damage to the bodywork (we had repairs valued about 3 grand) (no idea on mileage), and a earlier model 00 Nissan Almera with 110,000 on the clock. We have a new baby, and we both need cars for work/taking wee tot to get needles stuck in her.

I'd like to replace both cars and wonder if anyone could recommend a pair of cars that might fit the bill. I go around 40 miles a day, girlfriend less so.

We've got about 5 grand budgeted, plus whatever tradein might get us.

    Cheers!

If there is nothing wrong with the Almera I'd keep it to be honest, it's worth f all against a car with a screen price of a few grand.

If the 02 Corsa has €3k worth of damage then it is a write off and only worth scrap value as you can buy a clean 02 Corsa for alot less than €3k.

If you are parting with the Almera then I would sell it privately. Those Almeras are very reliable and are easy to sell. You will get alot more for it than what you will get as a trade in. You can also negotitate more off the asking price of the new car if you have no old cars to trade.
