    hi,
I'm looking to get a 1.4 D4D saloon 2006 and I am wondering what I should look out for or what should be all ready done on the car?
The car has 70k miles done. Is that a lot miles for a small engine?
My average mileage per year is about 15k miles and I plan to have the car for 4 years. Will the 1.4 engine handle 130k?
What will I need to change for that mileage?
I know it has a chain instead of a belt but should the chain be check or some thing like that. Its my first Toyota/Diesel/Chain belt so I'm a total beginner!!

    any help would be great
    thank you

They're generally very reliable, best thing to do is drive a few of them and familiarise yourself with how it should go. As with any common rail diesel you run the risk of having peoblems with injectors and dual mass flywheels. The 1.4 D-4D isn't known for trouble with these but it is a risk nonetheless.
Power down low isnt usually great but should pull nicely above 1500 rpm.
Any hesitation with power should be treated with suspicion.
Make sure there's a verified service history.
The corolla is robust and shouldn't give trouble once kept within their limits, hockeying them around the place or towing heavy loads will put strain on rhe gearbox, try and get one without a towbar.

Toyota main dealers give 12 month warranty on used cars.
