attack of the bad haircut

Recently fell victim to this in the Style Club. Hate forking over money for something I loathed, yet I was too chicken to admit that I hated it and didn't want to pay and wanted it fixed. Had researched so much into where to get my hair done and had heard great things about there, but hey, it just takes one bad hairdresser eh?
Any other victims willing to share?? :D

When I first got chunky layers I cried as they looked crap but they looked pretty cool when I messed around with my hair after the first wash.

When did you get your hair cut? Have you messed with it yourself yet? Just styling it yourself could change your opinion!

Ha really? I don't want to name and shame my hairdresser but maybe we had the same one!

Erm I would post pictures but argh, nah. My hair is long, and I have a full fringe which had grown out but I wanted back. She brushed all the hair forward from a point very far back on my head and just chopped it off, so its a bit like a scarecrow. Or a mushroom. Or a Lego man. This short layer continues around the rest of my head makin it a bit seventies. I'm starting to learn how to handle it but I have to pin back the fringe at the front all the time, which I hate for going out etc!

I feel your pain Banannawhoops, I have had more than my fair share of bad haircuts and have stopped going to at least 3 hairdressers because of this. A couple of years ago, I got a really crap haircut (didn't realise til I got home so too late to do anything about it) she had totally hacked into my hair. So I went to another (expensive) hairdresser to get it repaired and she made even a worse job of it! Not sure if it was because the first one had cut so far into my hair that the second girl literally couldn't do anything about it or if it was just sods law that I'd been to two crap hairdressers! At this stage I was about €100 down, had very little hair left and felt like crying .

It took about 4-5 months, but eventually the hair grew back enough that I could get it fixed. That's the great thing about hair, it will always grow back. So don't worry too much, there are worse things that could happen :).

Yeah I feel your pain people. I went to a hairdresser 2 years ago before my sisters wedding for a new hair do (or hair don't...) anyway the hairdresser proceded to chop into my locks and gave me this asymmetical fringe that covered my right eye, blow-dried it straight (I have strong curls) and I looked at her in the mirror - with the uncovered eye and asked "how on earth am I going to drive home like this?, you will have to cut it over my eye so I can see.." so she uttered "humph!!" (not the friendliest chattiest hairdresser I ever encountered...) and cut a good chunk off the fringe.

And the end result - think Hayley Cropper with a lopsided fringe!

Needless to say, as I left the salon E120 poorer I felt a right mug!!!

And when I washed it 2 days later..... my husband nearly got sick laughing at me!!!!! big mad lopsided afro head on me.

Haha! I know it's not really a big deal but it's just annoying when you pay money for someone to butcher your hair. Plus my graduations in a month and I really don't know how I'll be able to style it. My sisters saw it for the first time last night and were horrified, so at least I know I'm not being dramatic :p

You'd be suprised how much it will have grown out in a month.

You could also arrange to get a (decent!) hair dresser to style it for you on you graduation day.

I too have been a victim of style club in swords. Not only was the hair cut below par but the price they charge for the botch job was twice the price I could have got a better cut elsewhere. They charge 40 euro for students haircut that is if the child is over 12 years of age . I think people should be more careful with there money. They are greedy and overpaid and I certainly wont be going there again
