Best way to remove people from Group Shots

I got asked to take photos of a family reunion and now I have several shots, where 90% of people are looking the right way, not blinking or picking their nose in one photo, but then look ok in another photo.
So I want to create One good photo with them all not scratching their ***es.

Any helpful suggestions on how do this in photoshop?
The only way I know is using lasso tool to cut them out but I know thats far from the best.
All the shots have the same background, even the same faces, just want to cut and paste between different photos

    Thanks btw!

Are they all taken from the same angle?

I took some big group photos at a family reunion a year ago, didnt have a tripod just snapped some quickly at the time, but then found the same problem you describe,

But they were taken from quite similar angles/distances, so I think I layered about 3 of them on top of each other in photoshop, (pulling them up or down a little to line them up more) then put masks on the upper two photos so all I could see was the bottom one (the one with as few dodgy siblings as possible!)

Then scrolled in close and went along the people, if they looked a bit off or were looking away Id paint in from another layer and generally found a decent version for everyone - so by the end - photo of everyone smiling forward!

Course the photo was still pretty crap and noone had any idea Id stitched their mugs up, but it was more fun as a photoshop experiment more than anything else!

    Hope that helps!

Wow, thanks I'll try that. Yes they were the same angle - you know the sort of thing - have to shoot fast before boredom kicks in.

I did several variations - Immediate family, the boys, the girls and then the worst group - the kids!
