My new band are looking for a male singer.
We're based in Dublin and we are looking for someone in their early to mid 20s.

Here's a rough demo that we recorded recently over a couple of hours.
A temperamental electronic drum kit was used but it should give a decent idea of what level we play at, etc.

    DEMO

We all have a LOT of different influences in the band but I suppose what we are aiming to do is write is songs that show a decent level of musicianship while still having a good hook for people to sing along to.

If anyone is interested please get back to me here or send me a PM.
Please only get in contact if you have an mp3 or a video that gives and example of your singing.

    Thanks :)
    -Paul

I appreciate that people have contacted me through this ad but PLEASE don't bother if you don't have a mp3 or video with you singing that we can listen to. And we are only looking for people in their 20s.

Also, no more " well, I'm an ok singer. Haven't sang in about 4 years...etc" stuff.

We want a good singer. Someone with a good range and who can scream his balls off when needed. Think David Grohl dining The Best Of You by the Foo Fighters.

    Cheers.

You gotta be fair though. I mean, not everyone can afford or has access to a computer to lay down a decent vocal track/demo. I know it sucks and you usually end up going through about 10 ****e singers before you get someone good, but thats the nature of the beast! I know you might be thinking "well if they are serious about their instrument then they should have the equipment" etc, but chances are that all of the "serious" singers out there are already taken by other bands. Get someone fresh then when things get serious suggest to them that they invest in equipment.

    Maybe you're expecting too much??
    Just trying to help..... :)

Let's face it though, if a person hasn't got any mp3s from previous bands or any videos of themselves singing then the likelihood that they have the experience and vocal ability that we are looking for is very slim.

We're not looking for a top end production to showcase the vocalists abilities. We'll take a recording done on a webcam or phone....anything. Just something to show us that the person can sing before we get them in for a jam.

If a person isn't willing to go to the effort of doing that then they probably aren't someone we'd want to be in a band with anyway.

I understand your line of thought here, something to think about: take a classicaly trained singer who is sick of singing Opera and at age 25 decides to try rock/metal. New to the scene but a fantastic voice etc.....
And saying you accept " a recording done on a webcam or phone..." is easier said than done. Trust me, especially with vocals, first impressions are EVERYTHING and a poor recording will often not do justice to the quality of the singer who recorded it.
Anyways, just thought Id try to make a suggestion. You obviously know what you want, so best of luck to you with your search! :)
