ECU Repair

    Hi
I have a 2003 Ford Fusion and the ECU is damaged. The garage that took it out opened the unit and said that water was getting into it and part of the circuit board looks corroded.
I've been told that in order to get a second hand ECU for the car the codes have to match exactly but then someone else told that only the long ford code has to match. There are 3 "code numbers" on the ECU - The siemens code number, the ford code number and another code (4ROV) in large letters.

I've located one ECU that has the same ford number as my ECU but the other code is 4ROW. I've been told that the Siemens number is not relevant.

Can anyone tell me if both codes need to match or is it only the longer ford code. Ford themselves won't give me a straight answer just keep telling me to bring the car into them and €1200 later they'll have the car sorted.

Any help wuld really be appreciated as I'm without my car now for over 2 months
