Im going into my final year of mechanical engineering. im looking for some project ideas at the moment.
Im interested in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics mostly.
Im not interested in control or electronics or in a research project.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

You'll have to do some research for a FYP, that's the idea! Did you mean experimental work rather than theoretical?

Most mech departments do a fair amount of thermo/fluid dynamics work. I'd ask around to see whether they have some experimental testing you could do (clear it with your supervisor), or piggyback on their test setups.

Go to your colege library and search through titles of past FYPs or thesises. Or even just search through online journals like on
    http://asmedl.aip.org/journals/doc/ASMEDL-home/jrnls/

Look for a title which may interest you and this can at least begin your trail of thinking.

Get a rough plan and then talk to a project supervisor or lecturer to see if its feasible.
