Can anybody enlighten me as to how this can be done. I'm in Waterford so normally on other sites it just accepts this as the postcode. Please somebody:confused: I really want to buy a lovely jacket.

Also just curious what websites you ordered off putting your county as the postcode? I've wanted to order from river island but i'm afraid the order won't get here and I won't get my money back.

I've had that problem with New Look, despite putting Ireland as my country. I refreshed the page a couple of times and it eventually let me through.

The New Look website delivers to Ireland but still asks for a postcode. Dublin as far as I know is the only place in the country with a postcode. donna.s plenty of websites ask but normally just writing the County is sufficient, you should go ahead with your order. New Look was just more stubborn. I've just put one as in the number now and it went through. Thanks for the replies.:)

If a website that delivers to Ireland asks for a postcode I always put in 0000. Usually works. donna.s - I don't think River Island deliver to Ireland, wish they would though!

Was just going to suggest doing what E.T. said. Using 0000 normally works. The Economist and NG magazines (?) use it in the address when delivering to Ireland (and that wasn't necessarily down to the subscriber including it in their address). A lot of post from the UK also includes the 0000 postcode, too.

People are always asking this question:P

English websites always ask for a postcode when delivering to Ireland, as when you selet Ireland as your country they need to know if its northern or southern Ireland.. If your living in southern Ireland then EIRE is your postcode or you can use ROI... I always put in EIRE and it always works... I should know, my da is a postman:P

I just put 0000 in as the post code and it worked fine.

Hadn't thought of using EIRE before... Interesting tip!

I had actually entered 0000 but it wouldn't accept it. Must look into that Eire tip, hadn't realised it was an option on some sites, always automatically scrolled to Ireland. Not sure if it's listed on New Look though. Forgot River Island don't deliver to Ireland, supposed to but still haven't got round to it. Just thought there, maybe you meant entering eire as the postcode, will try that next time and see how it goes thanks.

I ordered a skirt from new look about a month ago and got it delivered to just outside Waterford.. it was delivered within the week. I usually type in IRL00 (as in the number zero) as some fields require letters and numbers. if it doesn't accept this I usually try just the letters i.e. IRL or just the numbers i.e 0000. Think its just a matter of playing around with different letter/numeric combinations :)

Yep, I meant entering EIRE as the postcode...I have ordered with asos, new look, topshop, dorothy perkins and miss selridge and this always works:D

Another thing to do with that annoying postcode section is to just put 000000 (a string of six zeroes) into the column and that usually works in most site (Ladbrokespoker, Amazon, etc.)

Just put any two digits eg. 99, and it lets you through to checkout

ROI works on most websites for postcode

    Just put 00000 works fine.

This is still a problem on this site.

None of the above suggestions worked for me, so instead of using my credit card straightforward, I used PayPal, and even though PayPal can't "verify" my "postcode" (1 or 0000) either, it went through fine. On New Look's part, it's bad management on a site that otherwise treats Ireland as a fairly real place. :P

I always use post code 0000 for New Look. It's the only code that ever worked for me with them.

I dont put anything in and I always get deliveries. Some offers direct you to the UK website even if you have already signed in. But when I go to check out it knows its an ROI address.
