Crancase Ventilation

    Hi All,

I was in with my main dealer and wanted to replace some parts in the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System in my car. I have never done this before so wasn't exactly sure what parts I needed so sought their advice.

The guy told me that there was a kit for it so he went ahead and ordered it. I also got an oil trap and a gasket for the inlet manifold as I have to take that off to get to the system.

When I arrived home and took the parts off the car I opened the box that they gave to me and found this Service Kit Purge Valve. This is the PCV system I am talking about, link here, and I showed him this diagram.
Has the kit I got anything to do with the crankcase ventilation?
Did I ask for the wrong thing when looking for PCV replacement kit?
Should I be able to get a refund on this as it was on special order?
Should I just replace these parts anyway as the car has 220k miles on it and I don't know when these parts were last changed?

    Thanks in advance :)
