iTunes repeating songs on ipod

My iTunes songs are scattered around itunes rather than being together on the same album, then when I put them on the ipod there being repeated so I have double the song on my ipod and now my ipod is full? Help!? I just want the song once on my ipod under the same album rather than having 9 different album covers for the script with the song on it twice instead of having all the songs under one album cover..?

Go into the iTunes menus at the top of the screen, one one of them gives you the opportunity to find duplicates, AFAIR. Then get rid of them.
