:o Really weird one this.I always had a fear of veins I know there important etc etc.But if I hear anyone mentioning anything about needles,I think of veins and immediately grab my forearm for some reason.I remember a guy in work telling a story of someone using a stanley knife to strip insulation off a cable, the knife slipped he sliced his arm and his....I nearly fainted.

I was in hospital a few months ago getting blood taken and as the nurse was sticking the needle in I was looking away she asked did I have a phobia I said "yeah".Then she started describing what she was doing couldn't find a vein etc etc  when she finished.I stood up I got all lightheaded from all the vein talk and she had to carry me to my seat in a packed hospital imagine a 5ft 10 guy been helped to his seat by a 5ft nurse :o.Anyone else suffer from a similar phobia?
