    Hi Guys & Gals.

I've an Ihone 3GS under O2, which I bought last March.
So its still under warranty, I've also taken an insurance policy
    out with the carphone warehouse.

After a month or two the silent button on the side stoped working.
I also think the reception antenna isn't working right. Now I've lost
network completly due to the phone. So I need a new one.

I also cracked the screen, which is covered through insurance.

So what way should I go about it? should I claim off Apple.
Or should I claim for the screen damage off the insurance?;)

Or if I couldn't find it tomorrow would that be a terrable thing?;)

    Thank you.

I am very sorry to hear your iPhone was stolen, pickpocketed from you on a crowded train...

At least you have it insured and so will have it replaced so long as you file report with Gardai within 24 hours of the theft...

nah ring apple, if the original two problems were note caused by the screen crack, just say the silent button isnt working. Youll have it back in a few days.

And we wonder why the cost of insurance is so friggin' expensive in this country....

I had a similar problem with a Nokia N97 - the insurance people said the phone had signs of "shock" damage and they couldn't repair it under warranty ...so be prepared to hear that excuse....I admit there were scratches on mine (no dents) ... normal scratches from wear and tear after 8months.... my slide/lock button fell off in my hand....due to actually using my phone every day !!

the insurance company will use whatever loophole they can to not pay anything out. (at least that was my experience).

i'm thinking of cancelling my insurance, i've read posts sayin a claim was put in for a lost phone claim and they denied it cos the user was negligent

    1 Go to O2 store
2 Get insurance claim form from them ( they will print one off if you have not got it )
3 Send in form to provided fax number and follow up with a call to ensure that they have received it
4 New iphone delivered in 2 days MAX

The O2 insurance policy covers against ALL damage / loss. I distinctly remember the sales agent telling me that " I could f**k it out of a window and I would be covered. Obviously don't put that down on claim form, but you should be covered in any eventuality.
