The i-maxB- (think that's it, Puding swears by it!) is meant to be great and right in your price range Lar!
I'm using a borrowed LiproPlus at the moment and it's fecking great!
May be the same price if you look around.

You could stretch that to get a Kong Power charger; £65 on Fire-Support (comes with power adapter with UK plug, although it can also be connected to 12v batteries), and it'll do both LiPo and NiMH batteries and is configurable (easily so) to take into account different cell counts and the like as well as trickle charging or cramming as much charge into a battery as safely as possible.

The charger is also bloody tiny and silent. No busted bearings on a fan to drive you mad; just a beeping to alert you that the battery is full.

    Here's a review I wrote

The really cheap ones on rsov work great, I had one there a while back, nice and small with plenty of functions. Chargers by their nature are a simple object and there's no harm in a low cost one.

    You know it!

It was green and small, http://www.rsov.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=5501
Thats style but not the same model.

As far as I'm concerned, these are things that work right first time or never work, theres not much to die on a circuit that wont die first time its used. Maybe I'm wrong but my gaffe didn't burn down anyway. :)

I have a Turnigy Accucel 6 and works a treat! And only 30 euros too! Only bad thing is that you have to buy airsoft cables for it and a 12v power supply seperate! http://cgi.ebay.ie/Turnigy-Accucel-6-50W-6A-Balancer-Charger-/280553371603?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415248b7d3
