    Mod Note:
I'd just like to issue a gentle reminder about one of the main ground rules to the sub-forum. All dealings should be conducted on thread and not through PM or e-mail. This is to ensure a transparent sales process and keep other interested parties up to date on the progress of a sale.

Since many items often require a viewing, it is permissable to finalise a sale at a viewing. However, in these circumstances, it is important to keep the thread updated on a.) if a viewing is going to take place and b.) if the item was sold on viewing.

You can use PMs to arrange the wheres and hows of a viewing, but do update the thread to indicate that a viewing is taking place.

    Thanks

Some interesting points there tonto I should have read this before I set up a guy to come view my bike on fri last. All correspondance was conducted via pm and mobile phone. I send him pics, he wants to come view the bike on friday and asks for directions, I give him directions and stay home all day but he doesn't turn up or answer calls or text messages so I assume that something has happened and there's a logical explanation until yesterday evening I log on to boards and this guy is online having posted looking for info on another bike!

The guy obviously had no interest in my bike which was fine if he'd have just said so............ I was a bit pissed having stayed home all day for nothing and not even getting a text message.

I know there's nothing I can do about it now but next time all comunication will be conducted on open thread.

    Neil.

To clarify - no private details should be posted on thread, your address, number, email addie etc should all be transferred by PM or phone.

The intention is that the bidding process should be conducted in the open, and once a sale is agreed that people move to more discrete methods for their own security.

Admittedly, this means bidding has to be done blind / based on users description of the item. I would be comfortable backing out post inspection if necessary.
