Standard heavy bag v Angled Bag

We've just got a load of new bags in the gym I train in. Before, we only had a load of standard heavy bags. Now we have a load of angled uppercut bags as well.

I was just wondering which is better to train on. The main advantages I could see to the angled bag was that hooks, uppercuts and bodyshots felt more natural. Another advantage is that because the bags are so hard when the get a little wet glancing punches slide off them so training on them might make my punches a little cleaner.

There far less give in the angled bag (practicaly none) which i'm not sure is a good thing or bad thing.

The thing is that I see few or no angled bags in most gyms and I don't see the likes of mayweather using them either. One of the lads commented that ye didn't see rocky using them.

So I was just wondering what the general consensus was on them, would ye choose them or the standard bag?

Its good to have 1 or 2 of them but heavy bags are more important, plus light bags for speed aswell..

Thanks, why do you side with the heavy bag? The heavy bag will move more when I hit it because of the sheer weight in the angled bag

Heavy bag should not move much when hit, are ya sure its hung right or your hitting it when its at the wrong position.

when there hung on long chains they can move about poorly!
Heavy bags are good for most things in Boxing but i actually think Light bags are great too..
