no poorer than usual on an iPhone 4.

losing the same 5-10% over night on standby depending on how many push notifications/emails I get during the night.

Anyone else notice poor battery performance since the 4.1 update?

What kind of drop are you noticing? Mine's been fine since update.

Check that nothing is running in the background, especially to do with GPS

That's the key. Notification, Location Services, 3G in a wifi area etc, all contribute to suck a percentage or two along with active use.

i have wifi running now and my battery has lasted all day yesterday and so far today im at 80%

but Thurs i left my 3g on accidentally, my battery died in 2 hours, i didn't realize i had left 3g on,so i charged it up full took it off the charger around 11pm and by 7 am Friday morning it was fully dead again,

i charged it again turned off 3g and its at 80% now so its more then fine again, i have wifi and location on at all times!

That's the thing guys, all my settings are identical! Absolutly no change. The only difference is iOS 4. Usually I'd get about a 2-4% drop over night at most! And last night it dropped 11%.. think I'll restore to 4.0.1 today.

i have 3G on 24/7 and it doesnt experience the same problems as youve described. have you tried a restore to see if that clears it?

mine was constant at 4-5% over night until 4.1 then it start going to 10% over night btu it does depend on how many emails come through and that.

    i have 3G on
    notifications on
email push and and fetch every 30 mins.
    locations services constantly on.
    wifi when needed
    bluetooth in car when needed.

last night it went back to my normal drop, ie. 3% from mid-night to 8am.
will keep an eye on it over the next few nights.

same here, i dont get the "turn this off" and "turn that off", as this and that are part of the appeal of the phone.
just plug it in for an hour before you go to bed.

or what ive done is bought a spare data cable on deal extreme for €1.50 and keep that in work for charging just incase.

As vinnycoyne said, Just charge overnight...

I knew, When I was getting my iPhone battery life wouldn't be great, But I always charge any phone I've owned overnight, Cause you can bet the one time I didn't was when I really needed It and It wouldn't last the day.

The only thing I would suggest is turning off location services, This really eats the battery, But everything else 3G, wi-fi, notifications and email are all things I have the phone for and shouldn't be turned off.

the greatest thing i think about the iphone 4 battery is i can go out with the phone at say 35% battery, come home, go back to work (travel time of approx an hour) use 3g, games, ipod etc and still have at least 15% battery to charge in work.

with my 3g s, i was charging it every night, and charging it before i left work as it always needed it.

i agree with the others, what's the point turning off this and that on the phone? it's similar to buying a car and ripping out the brakes/seatbelts/radio etc. (ok maybe not to that extreme but you know what i mean).
