If anyone is thinking of getting the Samsung External DVD Writer from Lidl Dabs.ie are doing it for around €47 posted.

The 500GB drive looks like old stock as its an item they have been flogging on an off for at least 18months. Whatever you do don't use the crappy stand that comes with it as its just too easy for it to fall over and get damaged. The eSata connection is a nice bonus if your PC has a connection for it you really notice the speed difference between eSata and USB 2.0. If its the same old one it also has a network connection which might be useful for some people.

The 250GB drive is well over priced or at least the price is about right for a retail shop but hardly a bargin thats worth queing up for.

The external Samsung DVD drive is nice but its the same price in a lot of places, not sure but I think it might be the same price in Car Phone Warehouse?
